On the vibrant night of youth, the first day of the Uam Daedongje at Cheongju University

The Cheongju University festival 'Uam Daedongje', which began on the 20th, kicked off with enthusiastic support from the very first day. Throughout the campus near our school's student cultural center, various booths, stage performances, and food trucks—often considered the highlight of the festival—were set up, filling the campus with vitality and energy as students cheered for the first time in a long while.

This year's Uam Daedongje took place over two days, on May 20 and 21. From the very first day of the festival, numerous students actively participated, embracing their expectations and joy as they enjoyed the festivities. Ryu Young-seo, a student at the department of aviation mechanical engineering, said, "The first word that comes to mind when I think of a festival is 'youth'. This is the second festival, and I really wanted to see Psy's performance."

The "Student Road Shop & Flea Market" booths, which were planned and operated by students themselves, were also very popular. Among them, Keum Jae-joon, a student at the department of architectural engineering who runs Akita, which sells tattoo stickers and duck hairpins, said, "When customers choose the tattoo stickers they like, we attach them. I am looking forward to being able to communicate with students from various departments while preparing booths with my friends. He expressed his feelings.

At one end of the booth, there was also an information booth at the University Job Plus Center in our school, drawing attention. Jeong Si-hyun from the employment support team said, "We came to inform students that there is such a center in our school, rather than promoting various employment programs supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Most of the students seemed to feel a sense of distance from the job center, so I wanted to approach them more friendly in a comfortable atmosphere, like a festival, he said.

The 2025 Uam Daedong Festival was more than just a celebration — it was a unique experience that blended the flavors, sounds, and passion of youth. Among the wide array of attractions and entertainment centered around the main field, the food truck zone especially captured the attention of many students.

The food truck zone, set up next to the Student Culture Hall, offered a variety of menu items such as sweet and spicy chicken, ice cream, tornado potatoes, waffles, and chicken skewers. From early in the day, it attracted a steady stream of students. Park Ji-min, a student from the Department of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles who entered the university in 2020, said, “I tried the tornado potato because my friends recommended it, and it was crispy and really delicious,” adding that she would definitely recommend it. In front of the Student Culture Hall, a table zone was set up, allowing students to comfortably enjoy food and drinks from the food trucks. The area remained bustling with visitors throughout the event. As the afternoon rolled in, the DJ’s playlist of trending songs, broadcast from the center of the table zone, added an extra layer of excitement to the festival atmosphere, drawing even more students into the lively space. Trash generated from food consumption in the table zone was neatly managed through a clean-up booth operated by the Student Council, playing a key role in maintaining order on site and fostering a clean festival atmosphere.

At the 2025 Woam Daedongje festival, we met with Professor Kim Hyung-wook from the Department of Trade to hear his thoughts on the event. Professor Kim said, “I was impressed by how students enjoyed the festival, expressing their unique personalities. It was truly heartwarming to see them communicating and having fun in such an active and proactive atmosphere. The festival provides a valuable opportunity for our students to feel a sense of belonging and come together.”

As the sun set, the entire campus transformed into a grand concert venue. The much-anticipated celebratory stage performance at the main stadium spectacularly marked the finale of the festival. On the evening of the first day, the stadium was packed with a crowd as the student singing contest kicked off, heating up the atmosphere with performances by talented hidden stars on campus. Later, the fireworks display lit up the sky brilliantly, adding excitement and cheers to the faces of everyone present.

The main celebrity performances truly marked the ‘highlight’ of the Woam Daedongje festival. The festivities kicked off with a dynamic performance by the idol group TNX, followed by the energetic cheerleading squad from the baseball team. Idol singer Maydine brought her unique musical flair, and the distinctive hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo captivated the audience. The show reached its peak when Psy, the most anticipated artist of the day, took the stage with explosive energy that electrified the entire festival.

Kim Da-gyeom, a freshman from the Department of Trade, class of 2025, said, “It was my first festival, and the lineup of performers was truly amazing. I especially had been looking forward to the Dynamic Duo’s performance of ‘자니’. As Psy’s stage began, the stadium turned into one massive chorus of voices. Instead of filming with their phones, students fully immersed themselves in the moment, watching with their eyes and hearts. Amidst the roaring cheers and excitement that filled the stadium, the Woam Daedongje reached its climax.

The first day of the 2025 Woam Daedongje was not only about performances by famous artists but also a celebration of students’ creativity, participation, and community spirit. As the festival moves into its final day, curiosity grows about what stages and stories await us next. The 2025 Woam Daedongje, where both the organizers and participants were the true stars, will surely become a cherished memory among the students of our university for years to come.

청춘이 빛나는 밤, 청주대 우암대동제 첫 날 현장

20일에 시작된 청주대학교 축제 ‘우암대동제’가 첫날부터 열띤 호응 속에 화려하게 막을 올렸다. 우리 학교 학생문화관 인근 캠퍼스 곳곳에는 다채로운 부스와 무대 공연, 축제의 꽃이라 할 수 있는 먹거리 푸드트럭이 자리잡았으며, 학생들의 환호성과 함께 캠퍼스는 오랜만에 생기와 활기로 가득 찼다.

올해 우암대동제는 5월 20일과 21일, 이틀에 걸쳐 진행됐다. 축제 첫날부터 많은 학생들이 적극적으로 참여했고, 각자의 기대와 즐거움을 안고 축제를 만끽했다. 항공기계공학과 22학번 류영서 학생은 “축제하면 가장 먼저 떠오르는 단어는 ‘젊음’이에요. 이번이 두 번째 축제인데, 싸이 공연을 꼭 보고 싶었어요.”라고 기대감을 드러냈다.

학생들이 직접 기획하고 운영한 ‘재학생 로드샵 & 플리마켓’ 부스들도 큰 인기를 끌었다. 그중에서도 타투 스티커와 오리 머리핀을 판매하는 아키타투를 운영한 건축공학과 22학번 금재준 학생은 “고객들이 마음에 드는 타투 스티커를 고르면 저희가 직접 부착해드려요. 친구들과 함께 부스를 준비하면서 다양한 학과 학생들과 소통할 수 있다는 점이 무엇보다 기대됩니다.”라고 소감을 전했다.

부스 한쪽 끝에는 우리 학교 대학일자리플러스센터의 안내 부스도 자리해 눈길을 끌었다. 취업지원팀 정시현 님은 “고용노동부에서 지원하는 다양한 취업 프로그램을 홍보하기보다는, 학생들에게 우리 학교에 이런 센터가 있다는 사실을 알리고자 나왔어요. 대체로 학생들이 취업센터에 거리감을 느끼는 것 같아, 축제처럼 편안한 분위기에서 좀 더 친근하게 다가가고 싶었습니다.”라고 전했다.

2025 우암대동제는 단순한 축제를 넘어, 청춘의 맛과 소리, 그리고 열정이 어우러진 특별함을 표현했다. 축제 기간 동안 대운동장을 중심으로 펼쳐진 다채로운 볼거리와 즐길 거리 중 특히 많은 학생들의 이목을 끈 것은 바로 푸드트럭 존이었다.

학생 문화관 옆에 마련된 푸드트럭 존은 닭강정, 아이스크림, 회오리 감자, 와플, 닭꼬치 등의 메뉴로 채워졌으며, 이른 시간부터 많은 학생들의 발길이 끊이지 않았다. 무인항공기학과 20학번 박지민 학생은 “특히 회오리 감자를 주변 친구들의 추천으로 먹었는데, 바삭하고 정말 맛있었다”라며 추천한다고 답하였다. 학생 문화관 앞에는 테이블 존이 마련되어 있었으며, 학생들이 편안하게 푸드트럭 음식과 음료를 즐길 수 있어서 발길이 끊이질 않았다. 또한, 오후 시간이 되자 테이블 존의 중앙에서 흐르던 DJ의 현재 유행하는 음악 선곡이 분위기를 더욱 고조시켰다. 음식 섭취 후 발생한 쓰레기는 총학생회가 운영하는 클린부스를 통해 깔끔하게 정리되었으며, 현장의 질서를 유지하고 청결한 축제 분위기를 조성하는 데 큰 역할을 했다.

이번 우암대동제에 참여한 무역학과 김형욱 교수는 “학생들이 각자 개성 있게 대동제를 즐기는 모습이 인상적이었다. 활발하고 주도적인 분위기 속에서 소통하며 즐기는 모습이 참 보기 좋았으며, 대동제가 우리 학교 학생들에게는 소속감을 느끼며 즐길 수 있는 소중한 기회”라며 소감을 전했다.

해가진 후에는, 캠퍼스 전체가 하나의 거대한 공연장으로 변했다. 많은 이들이 손꼽아 기다린 종합운동장에서 진행되는 축하 무대 공연이 축제의 피날레를 화려하게 장식했다. 1일차 저녁, 운동장을 가득 채운 인파 속에서 먼저 펼쳐진 재학생 가요제는 캠퍼스 속 숨은 실력자들의 무대로 분위기를 달궜다. 이후 진행된 폭죽 점화는 하늘을 화려하게 수놓으며, 그 순간을 함께한 모두의 얼굴에 설렘과 환호를 더했다.

본격적인 연예인 축하 공연은 말 그대로 우암 대동제의 ‘하이라이트’였다. 아이돌 TNX의 퍼포먼스를 시작으로, 야구 응원단의 역동적인 치어리딩, 아이돌 메이딘의 노래, 야구 응원단의 역동적인 치어리딩, 아이돌 메이딘, 음악적 색깔이 뚜렷한 다이나믹 듀오 그리고 이 날 가장 많은 기대를 모았던 가수 싸이가 폭발적인 에너지로 축제 현장을 사로잡았다.

무역학과 25학번 김다겸 학생은 “첫 축제인데, 가수 라인업이 정말 대단했다. 특히 다이나믹듀오의 ‘자니’ 무대를 기다려 왔다.”라며 축제를 손꼽아 기다렸다는 마음을 전했다. 싸이의 무대가 시작되자 운동장은 말 그대로 하나의 거대한 떼창 현장이 되었다. ‘강남스타일’, ‘연예인’, ‘예술이야’ 등이 이어지는 동안 학생들은 휴대폰으로 촬영하는 것 대신 눈과 마음으로 무대를 담았고, 운동장을 가득 메운 함성과 열기 속에서 우암 대동제는 최정점을 찍었다.

이번 우암 대동제의 첫번째 날은 단지 유명 가수의 공연 뿐만 아니라, 학생들의 기획력과 참여 그리고 공동체 정신이 빛나는 자리였다. 마지막 날이자 두번째 날에는 어떤 무대와 이야기가 우리를 기다리고 있을지 궁금해진다. 준비한 이들과 즐긴 이들 모두가 주인공이었던 2025 우암 대동제는 우리 학교 학생들 간의 추억이 되어 오래도록 기억될 것이다.
