Cheongju University Selected New Technology Convergence Design Yangjae Training Project

Cheongju University announced on the 3rd of May that it has been selected for the "New Technology Convergence Design Innovative Talent Training Project," a collaborative talent training project for ministries in 2023.

The "New Technology Convergence Design Innovative Human Resources Development Project" is a project to foster innovative human resources in response to changes in the industrial economic structure such as new industries.

This project aims to cultivate and supply manpower with new technology convergence design capabilities. They will develop and operate an undergraduate curriculum based on industrial demand. This will improve the university constitution, support specialization, and strengthen the competitiveness of the design industry.

Cheongju University's Industrial Design Department will be the host department. Aviation mechanical engineering, and unmanned aerial vehicles will promote the IP-R&D-based convergence mobility design project to create regional value and operate it with a state budget of 860 million won for two years.

This is specifically, in line with the aviation specialization new growth strategy in Chungbuk province. The government plans to establish a virtuous cycle ecosystem that fosters and supplies talent by linking IP (intellectual property) and aviation mobility, which are spotlighted as major industries of the fourth industrial revolution.

For this project, Cheongju University will develop and operate an intellectual property mobility design micro major. This will be an undergraduate curriculum based on a degree system and will promote industry-academic cooperation and field practice to strengthen its ability to start a business. In addition, as a regional value creation program, career education in which middle and high schools participate and on-site practical programs tailored to companies will be conducted.

President Cha Cheon-soo said, "By selecting a new technology convergence design innovative talent training project, we will combine local strategic industries and universities' specialized capabilities to specialize in the design, intellectual property, and aviation mobility and contribute to regional industry and economic development."

The departments participating in this project have been verified by carrying out the Intellectual Property Education Leading University Project, Chungbuk Drone UAM Research Center, and Future Automotive Human Resources Development Project.
