The division offers excellent programs to study the essence of living organisms, understanding and manipulationof genes, and statistical analyses of the bio-information. The object of Life Science is to study the phenomenon of the nature and life. The department of Life Science in subdivided into zoology, botany and microbiology according to the subject. The students can improve the scientific consideration by the research and study. The student can be known the theory and system of the nature, and relationship between the nature and human by observation of the life objects and vital phenomenon. The students also can be trained to high-quality scientist who can contribute to social development with sense of duty.
In zoology to achieve this goal, An energy metabolism of animal, regulatory mechanism of protein biosynthesis, histodifferentiation in developmental processes, and ageing. In botany, will be studied the structure, physiological and morphological function of plants, the systematics establishing a system of evolution of plant kingdom, and the searching out and screening biological resources. In microbiology, will be studied to understand the function and structure of gene and the search of physiological active substance in microbes.

The department of Bioinformatics and Statistics at Cheongju University was founded in October 1978 in Korea. The first welcome meeting for the freshmen was held in March, 1979. It has been the home of many statisticians for academic position, business company, bio-industry, government agency, and so forth. Also the faculty of the department of Bioinformatics and Statistics has a distinguished record of research and teaching. They are or have been president, editor and chair of major institute or learned society.
The department has theoretical statistics, applied statistics, and bioinformatics tracks. The students have studied their favorite fields in the departments. There are many high perform computing systems in the department. The stat server with S-Plus server version has been used for statistical analysis of undergraduate course. For practicing DBMS, we have database server with Linux and MySQL. Also the department has web server for its web site.
The department provides statistical consulting to the other departments and to local society. We have a plan to work with bio company and institute in O-Song and O-Chang. This is a new area of emphasis of the Department. Therefore the department is expected to continuous development.

Landscape architecture is a multi-disciplinary field, which includes: geography, mathematics, science, engineering, art, horticulture, technology, social sciences, politics, history, philosophy and more recently, ecology. The activities of a landscape architect can range from the creation of public parks and parkways to site planning for corporate office buildings, from the design of residential estates to the design of civil infrastructure and the management of large wilderness areas or reclamation of degraded landscapes such as mines or landfills. Landscape architects work on all types of structures and external space - large or small, urban or rural, and with "hard"/"soft" materials, hydrology and ecological issues.

After engaging in practical affairs, they can acquire certificates of architect, professional engineer architectural structure and professional engineer construction work. Widening scopes more, they can also acquire certificates related to the fields of fire-fighting equipments, civil engineering and CAD/MAX.
